I Feel Like Swaying Back and Forth

Fleet Foxes Thanks to Sam for the heads up regarding Fleet Foxes. The song below makes me want to sway back and forth, maybe close my eyelids partially, and just chill. Is that weird?

Anyone know the song Chinese Translation by M. Ward? These guys are a bit like that. They describe themselves as…

baroque harmonic pop jams.

I listened to some of their other stuff as well, and some if it’s a bit too indie for my taste. But not all of it. Check out the track “Ragged Wood” on their MySpace page. These guys remind me a lot of Simon and Garfunkel. A lot. Especially the beginning of the track “Sun it Rises” on their MySpace page. I think it’s more their vocals that remind of me S&G, not their music as much.

Thanks Sam!

I'd put these guys in more of the Beach Boys, post Pet Sounds dept. Probably close to Good Vibrations for tonality and, pardon the pun, "vibe." Of course, all those things without a genuinely musicallygiftedinsane person writing the music.
  • Dude...so good. I just want to float.

MacKenney's indie friends out in Seattle love this band. According to them, the show at Sasquatch was fantastic.
